About the Role

The graduate apprenticeship is an accredited work-based learning programme combining an honours degree from RGU with the globally recognised ICAS Chartered Accountant qualification over a five year period. This is mainly completed through supported online learning.  Academic study is combined with the practical experience you obtain from working in the office whilst you are being supported by your mentor.

You will initially work within our Audit team as an Audit Assistant, which will help to support your learning whilst on the job. You will also get the chance to complete placements to other departments, such as our Accounts, Virtual Finance, Tax and Payroll departments where you will be given the opportunity to apply the knowledge relevant to your study course.

Examples of some of the activities carried out by an audit assistant within the audit team are as follows –

Ø  Attend stock takes and record results thereof

Ø  Attend audit planning meetings as part of team

Ø  Assist manager in planning

Ø  Analytical Review of Accounts and identification of risk areas reporting to manager

Ø  Selection of Audit samples and testing as per audit plan

Ø  Completion of Audit field work sections and recording evidence and reporting conclusions to Manager/Senior manager

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Graduate Apprentice to join our team who meets the below entry requirements and has a passion for Finance:

The entry requirements for the course are:

Ø  SQA Higher – BBBB

We welcome applications from those with equivalent qualifications or work experience which equip them with an equivalent starting point for the course. For those applicants who do not meet our Standard Course Entry Requirements, applications may be considered from those who possess one years’ relevant work experience and where the applicant has demonstrated the development of key skills evidenced through a detailed CV. Applications from students with non- standard qualifications (including Foundation Apprenticeships, Modern Apprenticeships, SVQs/NVQs and access programmes) or work experience will be considered on an individual basis.
