Play a part in our national transformation

New technologies, new ways of working and new goals.  We’re changing the way we help 30 million customers, businesses and communities across the UK, and it starts with our Finance teams.  They are at the centre of our new mission to become the bank of the future, and now we’re searching for new talent to join them and help us grow.  So, if you’re looking for a career with impact – we have a job for you. And the great news is you don’t need a business or finance degree to come and work with us.

What role will you play in our future?

Do you connect numbers and data in a way that others can’t?  Would you like to see your work make a difference to millions?  Do you want to start your accountancy career with an industry leader?  If so you’ll make a great addition to our Finance teams. You will be involved in every decision-making process in our business, ultimately helping us to become the bank of the future.

How will your career journey progress at Lloyds Banking Group?

During a number of placements across three years in Edinburgh (or across different locations around the UK on our nationwide scheme) you’ll work in a variety of areas to develop your strengths.  Over this time, you will make an impact through your work and through initiatives that give back to communities.

Day to day you could be:

  • Reviewing business decisions across the group – from finance to business improvement, you’ll have a say in how we work day to day

  • Learning about our businesses to ensure the provision of high quality financial advice and insight to your internal stakeholders

  • Undertaking core finance activities including forecasting, reporting, profitability modelling and business case development

  • Using new technology, models and data to improve the quality of insight from the Finance division

  • Building strong and lasting relationships with colleagues across all levels of the business

  • Analysing the banking industry to understand the impact, risk and opportunity for Lloyds Banking Group

How will you become the best you can be?

People do their best work when they feel happy and valued; that’s why you’ll receive the tools you need to develop the career you want – from mentoring to delivering TED-style talks.  We’ll support you to complete your ICAS professional qualification which is a core part of the programme and will help you to build a future career in finance. You’ll also have the chance to lead on UK community volunteering initiatives.

Why Lloyds Banking Group?

Just because we’re 320-years old, it doesn’t mean we’re old-fashioned.  As the largest digital bank in the UK we’re dedicated to helping Britain prosper In 2017 alone we helped 124,000 companies start trading, lent £6bn to start-ups and helped 15,000 clients to export their products internationally for the first time – and this is just the start.  As part of the Group, you’ll not only represent Lloyds Bank but our other brands too, including Bank of Scotland, Scottish Widows and Halifax.  Our focus is to become the bank of the future, and with over 12 million online and eight million mobile users, we’re constantly exploring how to bring new digital solutions to our customers.

What do you need to join us?

A 2:2 degree or above in any discipline from any university.  The variety and experiences of our colleagues makes our workplace unique, so we encourage people from every kind of background to apply.  It’s important for us, and it shows.  Recently, we were named a Times Top 50 Employer For Women, as well as the Best Bank in the World for Diversity and Inclusion at the Euromoney Awards 2017 and a Times Top 100 Graduate Employer.
