Johnston Carmichael LLP, the largest independent firm of Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers in Scotland and one of the Top 20 accountancy firms in the UK, is currently recruiting for the following position which offers excellent long-term career prospects:
Job Title: Graduate Restructuring Case Administrator
Job Type: Permanent
Hours of Work: Full-time (36.25 hours per week)
Location: Aberdeen but not essential
Salary details: Competitive
To work as a key member of the Aberdeen Restructuring team to efficiently and effectively progress the management of formal insolvency appointments, Corporate Simplification projects and some Advisory assignments.
About Our Restructuring Team:
Our award-winning Restructuring team has the skills and experience to assist stakeholders of distressed companies or individuals to navigate through a period of financial challenge.
Our team of licensed insolvency practitioners assist directors, creditors and individuals to understand the issues arising when cash flow is tight or when losses in a business drive a need for rapid change. We work closely with our Corporate Finance and Consulting colleagues to deliver accelerated business sales, drive rapid operational change and provide advice on the legal risk of continuing to trade whilst an entity might be insolvent.
By providing early advice to assist business owners we help many clients avoid the risk of a formal insolvency and mitigate the financial impact of a business failure for key stakeholders. Where a formal insolvency is required, we have licensed insolvency practitioners, with many years of experience, who can efficiently and pragmatically deliver value for creditors from formal insolvency processes such as Administrations, Liquidations or Company Voluntary Arrangements.
We have one of the largest Corporate Simplification practices in Scotland, where we assist corporate clients to simplify their group structures using the Members’ Voluntary Liquidation process, Strike Off or Capital Reduction.
The successful candidate will be (or expect to be) educated to degree level (2:1 or better) and will have a desire to take further professional examinations to become both a qualified accountant and licensed insolvency practitioner.
Work experience is a real advantage but that needn’t have been in a Restructuring or financial environment. If you have developed strong transferable skills which you can apply to a role within our team, we want to hear from you.
We’re looking for individuals with spark and ambition who can demonstrate attention to detail, take pride in their work and have a real passion to succeed in their professional studies.
Despite our size, we’re a close-knit team so you’ll need strong inter-personal skills and be able to communicate well with colleagues and clients.
Good time management, problem solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements are also essential alongside a can-do approach to any situation.
The successful applicant will be offered full study support to become an accountant.
Subject to performance in the role, the successful applicant may be offered study support to take the Joint Insolvency Examination Board examinations to become a qualified insolvency practitioner over the longer term.
This is a role that offers outstanding long-term career prospects.
