Our school/college leaver positions are known as JC Futures. On our JC Futures programme, for the first year, you will complete Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping (or similar). You will then progress onto ICAS. We will give you a 5-year training contract to balance your work and studies and provide full study support towards your professional qualifications.
As well as completing your professional qualifications you will develop your interpersonal and commercial skills. This is through our induction experience, soft skills training programme (designed especially for our Early Careers colleagues), training on offer through our JC Aspire programme and our partnership with Moore global as well as networking events.
We are looking for the following:
4 Highers (or equivalent) of grade B or above
Enthusiastic team player
Willingness to learn
Excellent communication – written and verbal
Commitment to effectively manage studies and professional responsibilities

What does our Audit team do?
Audit involves the independent verification of a company’s accounts. This gives confidence to investors and regulators that business performance reports are true and fair. As part of our growing audit team, you will contribute to this verification process, from checking invoices and records to understanding client businesses and honing your professional judgement. Within our Corporate Audit team, you will get the inside view of a wide range of clients – from food and drink to oil and gas, to hospitality and construction.
We also have specialist audit teams that focus on the financial services and funds sectors, both of which are very significant contributors to the UK economy and Johnston Carmichael’s growth as a business.
Our Financial Services Team focuses on the wealth and asset management sector, including corporate asset managers, private equity and venture capital structures, LSE listed entities (including FTSE250s) and boasts a number of multi-national household names as clients. As part of this fast growing team you will get exposure to some of these.
Our Funds Team focuses on a large portfolio of open ended regulated funds split across some of the UK’s largest names in the sector. These structures make investment in a portfolio of investments, typically ranging from equities to bonds. As part of this team, you will quickly get the opportunity to experience an entire audit from start to finish really setting the building blocks for your career within a close knit team.
